After Christmas, the season of the Kripperlroas begins. By carriage or on foot you go to the most interesting cribs in the Salzkammergut. Many of the cribs, some of which are several hundred years old, can be visited in the region around Bad Ischl between now and the beginning of February.
In the Hotel Austria - Museum of Bad Ischl, for example, you can also visit the famous Kalss nativity scene, a beautiful example of the typical landscape nativity scenes of the Salzkammergut, which have been elaborated down to the smallest detail. More than 300 partly movable figures, each with its own story, illustrate the events of Christmas.
