Bus Gosau Hauptstrasse - Vorderer Gosausee

The hike starts directly at Lake Vorderer Gosausee, leads you along the first lake, incl. information boards and test objects, a via ferrata and the constant view to the surrounding mountainous silhouette. Hike first on a forest path, it leads through the woods, past a little clearing and the Gosaulacke (little lake). After 1,5 hours you´ll reach Lake Hinterer Gosausee with the Holzmeisteralm hut. A wonderful place to make a rest! The tour will lead you back the same way but now on the opposite side of Lake Voderer Gosausee.

Today the tour starts directly at the accommodation. Walk a few steps up to the church, where you enter the hiking trail Herrenweg. Follow it until you reach Zwieselalm pasture, where the hut of the same name invites for a well-deserved rest.

The large natural swimming pool with waterfall, various jumping possibilities and a water slide offers bathing fun for the whole family. The natural swimming pool is operated fully biologically and is free of chlorine and other chemical additives. The pool is therefore also suitable for visitors with sensitive skin or allergies.

Right next door is the water park with its unique range of summer leisure activities for the whole family. A special highlight is the "children's canoe course" and the “play stream” with weirs and water stream. The Kneipp facility provides the right cooling.

From Russbach you´ll reach beautiful pastures in short time. The round hiking tral leads you first to the Traunwandalm pasture, then via the Angerkaralm pasture to Rinnbergalm pasture. During the hike you´ll learn a lot of interesting facts about the live on a pasture.

The tour starts with a short ascent, afterwards you hike on an easy ascending path to Löckenmoos-Latschenfeld (field of mountain pines). Further you walk on a pleasant forest ground to farmer Russegg. After approx. 500 m you´ll reach the main road and further the old Gschüttstrasse, which you follow back to the village square.

From the mountain station leads a signposted trail easy ascending to Gablonzer hut and Breiningalm pasture (10 minutes), to Sonnalm pasture (20 minutes), to Zwieselalmhöhe (30 minutes) and to Zwieselalm hut (40 minutes). From Zwieselalm hut you walk back to the cable car mountain station

via Herrenweg trail (No. 611).

Bus Vorderer Gosausee – Gosau Hauptstrasse

Today you start directly at the accommodation or rather at the church above. Turn right and walk further until you reach a wooden fountain on the left side, the “Jakobsbrunnen”. On a narrow path you hike further uphill. At the top there is a big chapel where you have a great view of the surrounding area. Walk steadily uphill and enjoy the woods flooded with light. Finally, you´ll reach the Via Alpina (Northern Alps trail), a graveled road where you keep right. Cross two creeks and turn right onto a forest trail, which is especially exciting for young hikers. Pass Mount Kalvarienberg and leave the Via Alpina to the right. You´ll reach the big chapel again, turn right at “Jakobsbrunnen” fountain and follow the asphalt road back to the accommodation.

Ascent via Trocktannalm to the Goiserer hut below the summit of Mount Kalmberg. Not far from the lodge lies the “Kalmoos church”, a cave in which Protestants attended services in secret in the past.

Bus Gosau Hauptstrasse – Gosau Mittertal – payment on spot

From Gosau Mittertal start along east on a little street and cross the bridge. Then the ascent starts through the forest on a signposted trail in the direction of “Schleifsteinbrüche”. After approx. 1,5 hours you reach the Schleifstein hut (1344m). Here the interesting tour on a marked trail up to “Löckernmoos“ (1410 m) starts. The unique moor with its little moor lake is a true experience for big and small. Along this trail you´ll find boards with interesting things to know about the local flora and fauna.

Treat yourself with an extended rest and enjoy this idyllic place. Further walk along southwest through the moor to the mountain hut. Afterwards walk left along the logging road, then to the left via wooden planks, past the “Wildfrauenluckn” back to the Schleifstein huts. At the fork keep left and descent via trail No. 644 to Gosau Hintertal.

This beautiful, partly challenging, tour leads you along approx. 4,5 kilometers trail through the Echerntal valley in Hallstatt. Steep rock walls, typical mountain forest, sparkling mountain stream and a 100 meters high waterfall are part of this route. After hiking don´t miss to visit idyllic Hallstatt. This village is rich in cultural attractions - especially the prehistoric museum invites you to learn about Hallstatt’s long-standing history as salt town. Hallstatt was nominated as UNESCO-World Heritage site in 1997.
