The local tax, also known as visitor's tax, is payable locally to the landlord; the amount depends on the resort and is between 1,00€ and 4,00€ per person per night. Children up to the age of 15 are usually exempt.

The hiking tour takes you from the unspoiled Lake Schwarzensee to Lake Atterseee - Austria’s largest inland lake, as far as the greatly-praised Lake Wolfgangsee. Start your hiking tour directly in Bad Ischl – walk to Kalvarienbergkirche church and on the “Elisabeth Forest Trail” to Rußbach - Schwarzensee - Eisenau - Burgau at Lake Attersee - walk to your accommodation along the lake shore to Weissenbach.

Take the hiking bus to the access point Burggrabenklamm. A spectacular trail leads through the narrow gorge to the flanks of Mount Schafberg. You continue between Attersee and Mondsee – on the Hiking path 17A. You will pass the Scharfling pass, descent to St. Gilgen and walk along the lake towards Abersee.
It is possible to take the bus from St. Gilgen to Abersee.

Zinkenbach / Stockach – boat trip to St. Wolfgang – possibility to take the famous cogwheel railway up to Mount Schafberg (1760 m) – time for a stroll through St. Wolfgang – on to Berau. Bürglpromenade to Strobl centre – Weißenbach.

Daily stages are introductory to moderately difficult, hiking distances can be adjusted easily by public transport. A reasonable fitness level and basic hiking equipment like good hiking shoes, rucksack, rain and sun protection, functional clothing and also a warmer jacket or pullover are necessary to enjoy your trip.
