Four soloists - one choir:

Benjamin Grund (tenor), Thomas A. Gruber (tenor & baritone), Stephan Schlögl (tenor) and Daniel Hinterberger (baritone & bass)

The four voices of the mountains have consistently continued their way between folk customs and modern hits for years - and the unbroken long-term success proves the "SdB", as the boys are affectionately abbreviated by their fans, right.

The formation of Voices of the Mountains was born in the summer of 2014. The tenors Benjamin Grund, Matthias Müller, Thomas A. Gruber, the bass Stefan Hofmeister, the baritone Daniel Hinterberger had the idea to raise the voices of the mountains. The group members all have sound training as singers and were members of the world-famous “Regensburger Domspatzen” during their school days. None less than the church musician and former cathedral bandmaster Georg Ratzinger, the brother of Pope Emeritus Benedict XVI, was her teacher. The foundation stone for a unique singing career was laid. The voices of the mountains still fondly remember the time with the "Regensburger Domspatzen" and focus entirely on their careers as a five-man choir as voices of the mountains, because they set new standards with their versatility.

Benjamin Grund (tenor) was already successful as a soloist in the popular entertainment industry after his time with the Regensburger Domspatzen and won the popular hit parade on ZDF. To the voices of the mountains he came up by accident. The well-known manager Joachim Hendel asked the singer if he could get excited about a musical project with former Regensburger Domspatzen. “I didn't have to think twice about that!” And the foundation stone for the voices of the mountains was laid.

Thomas A. Gruber (tenor & baritone) sets the tone for the voices of the mountains; together with Benjamin and Stephan he sings the high tenor registers. "Our decades of friendship, our common musical path, the fun on and behind the stage mean a lot to me and are very important in my life," said Thomas. As a 'bus driver' and musical director, he helps ensure that the four voices safely reach their goals - both to get to the venue on time and to work out the special, cross-genre musical note of the voices of the mountains.

Stephan Schlögl (tenor), the musicology student, found his way to the voices of the mountains via mutual companions and a few detours. “I'm incredibly happy to be here,” said Stephan. "Performing valuable songs such as folk and church songs, popular hits and classic hits professionally and close to the audience like with the voices of the mountains is a great experience and great fun!"

Together with some of his friends of the voices of the mountains, Daniel Hinterberger (baritone & bass) has already celebrated several great successes in a former formation, including 2nd place in the Grand Prix of Folk Music and numerous other TV appearances and tours. “These experiences welded us together and I'm sure our audience will also notice that we have great fun with the music and stick together.” It doesn't matter whether it's classical or folk music, solo or in an ensemble - the most important thing for him is the people to touch and inspire with his music.
