Day 2: Bad Ischl – Weißenbachtal – Mondsee

approx. 44 km, altitude difference: ascent 440 / descent 360 m
You start from Bad Ischl heading north and then turn into the romantic Weißenbachtal valley. After a few metres on the road, you change to the cycle path and cycle through forests and along the Weißenbach stream through the countryside to the southern end of Lake Attersee. From here you first cycle along the Attersee and then change to the Mondsee. Now you cycle, mostly along the lake, to the village of Mondsee with its famous basilica, and then to your hotel.
Overnight stay in Mondsee

Day 3: Mondsee – Attergau – Attersee – Gmunden - Ebensee

approx. 50 km, altitude difference: ascent 710/descent 830 m
Today your route takes you between the three largest lakes in the Salzkammergut.
After your start in Mondsee, the first uphill section takes you across fields to the wooded hills of the Attergau. The route winds along narrow roads, partly on tarmac and partly on gravel roads to Straß im Attergau. Continuing towards the lake, you reach the northern end of Lake Attersee in Seewalchen. Continue along small roads, alternating between settlements and fields, until you finally reach the ceramics town of Gmunden. Round off the day in comfort with a boat trip from Gmunden to Ebensee.
Overnight stay in Ebensee.

Alternative route: Mondsee – along the Attersees – Gmunden – Ebensee
approx. 62km, altitude difference: ascent 450/descent 570m
You start this tour along the northern shore of Lake Mondsee and then cross over to Lake Attersee at Unterach. Always close to the shore, the route continues to Seewalchen and from there to Gmunden. Once there, take the boat to Ebensee.
The alternative route runs more along main roads but offers a variety of wonderful views of the lakes.

Day 4: Ebensee – Bad Ischl – St. Wolfgang - Strobl

approx. 43 km, altitude difference: ascent 300/descent 160 m
You leave the saltworks town of Ebensee, located at the southern end of Lake Traunsee, and    follow the route of the brine pipeline. This pipeline, the oldest in operation in the world, transports the brine from the mines for further processing in Ebensee. Continuing up the Traun, you reach the imperial town of Bad Ischl, where you turn west and cycle through small villages towards Lake Wolfgangsee to St. Wolfgang with its famous Weisse Rössl hotel. After exploring the town, you cross the lake on the cycle ferry and follow the former route of the Salzkammergut local railway through the Blinklingmoos to Strobl.
Overnight stay in Strobl
