Since summer 2010, there has been a unique offer on the Bavarian-Upper Austrian Danube. In addition to the Danube cycle path, the Donausteig hiking trail from Passau via Linz to Grein, which is around 450 kilometres long and runs along both banks of the Danube for the most part, has been created for hikers, making their hearts beat faster.
The Upper Austrian capital is the starting point for your hike along the Donausteig. The route takes you along the Linz basin, through the Machland region and into the legendary Strudengau region. Defiant castles, dreamy palaces and legendary ruins tower like sentinels over the Nibelungen river.
