Three tenors, a bass and a baritone: the new 'boy group' of folk music.

"Five top-class vocal soloists combine genres, build bridges and create a new sound."

These are the voices of the mountains.

The formation of Voices of the Mountains was born in the summer of 2014. The tenors Benjamin Grund, Matthias Müller, Thomas A. Gruber, the bass Stefan Hofmeister, the baritone Daniel Hinterberger had the idea to raise the voices of the mountains. The group members all have sound training as singers and were members of the world-famous “Regensburger Domspatzen” during their school days. None less than the church musician and former cathedral bandmaster Georg Ratzinger, the brother of Pope Emeritus Benedict XVI, was her teacher. The foundation stone for a unique singing career was laid. The voices of the mountains still fondly remember the time with the "Regensburger Domspatzen" and focus entirely on their careers as a five-man choir as voices of the mountains, because they set new standards with their versatility.

With their live performances, the group presents a very extensive and varied repertoire, consisting of well-known popular melodies, hit hits from yesterday and today, well-known musical melodies, world-famous evergreens, gospel songs and sacred church music. The voices of the mountains demonstrate their versatility in each of their appearances, be it in mixed programs with colleagues from the genres Schlager and popular Schlager, but also in solo concerts and church concerts. They particularly enjoy it when they play with a capella Deposits can inspire the audience. Especially at Christmas time, the young singers present a balanced program that will surely put the audience in the right festive Christmas mood.

The voices of the mountains are no longer a secret tip. With its numerous appearances and the tour with the Ladiners from South Tyrol, which runs until November, this young formation thrills thousands of spectators with its heart-warming melodies and wonderful voices. The debut album When the sun awakes in the mountains, which was released on March 18, 2016 by TELAMO, made a very remarkable jump to the official TOP 100 international album charts in Germany (number 37), the Schlager album- Charts (7th place) and in Austria they landed in the TOP 50 of the international album charts. Even in the Czech Republic and Slovakia, the five popular figures from Bavaria made it into the TOP 10 of the sales charts there.

In May 2016, tenor Matthias Müller and bass Stefan Hofmeister left the group for family reasons. The tenor Stephan Schlögl and bass Simon Käsbauer, who are also former Regensburger Domspatzen, joined the group as successors. On May 29, 2016, the group made a guest appearance on the ARD TV program "Always Again Sundays" with Stefan Mross to mark the debut of the new members. Previously, 66 new titles had been recorded with the two new members, including an album with hymns that emphasized the skill and versatility of the five singers, especially with a lot of a cappella singing. This album, entitled In the Name of the Father, will be released on September 23, 2016. At the same time the 4-CD box Voices of the Mountains - THE BEST with 80 songs will be released.

After touring with the "Ladiners" from South Tyrol last year, in year 2016 had a great time with Patrick Lindner and Lena Valaitis under the motto Christmas time beautiful time.
